Visit to ‘Le Quarante’ and ‘Le Zoom’ in Laval

A Day in Laval: Culture and Gastronomy:

• First, we will visit ‘Le Quarante’, the city’s new iconic cultural centre, where art and culture come together.
• Stéphane ILLAND, head of the City of Laval’s Heritage Department, will take us on a special heritage tour entitled ‘From Crédit Foncier to Le Quarante’.
• He will explain how this site, which was originally occupied by Crédit Foncier, a major French bank, was renovated by architect Jean-Pierre Pranlas-Descours to become a cultural centre (music, singing, dance, visual arts, media library, etc.) in 2022.
• The transformation of this former industrial building into a contemporary cultural space has been praised for its design and integration into the urban landscape.

• Next, we will head to the ‘Petit Périgord’ in the historic old town, a restaurant renowned for its traditional cuisine and delicious dishes.

• In the afternoon, we will continue our outing at the ‘Zoom’, Laval’s Science Museum, where we will visit the ‘Comets’ exhibition.
• This exhibition invites visitors to explore the world of comets, their formation, their impact on our planet, and their place in the collective imagination.
• Activities and screenings enrich the experience, making the visit both fun and educational.

10.00 a.m.	Meet at ‘Le Quarante’ Cultural Centre for the special patrimony visit ‘Du Crédit Foncier au Quarante’.
12.00 p.m.	Lunch at Restaurant “Le Petit Périgord”, 63 Grande Rue, Laval
2.30 p.m.	Meet at ‘Le Zoom’ Science Museum to see the ‘Comets’ exhibition.
