Future Protection Mandate

The Future Protection Mandate (or Mandat de Protection Future, to give it its French title) has much the same purpose as the Lasting Power of Attorney in England and Wales, in that both legal documents exist to protect an individual in the event that the individual concerned becomes incapable of make decisions affecting his or her own future or the property that he or she owns.
However, both pieces of legal protection operate within very different legal frameworks and both are implemented differently. Therefore, the two pieces of legal protection should NOT be considered to be the same.
As this is a piece of French legal protection, the application form to apply for a future protection mandate is only available in French and must be completed in French. Therefore, in order to help those members of our Association whose first language is English, EuroMayenne is pleased to make available English translations of the application form and the instructions that accompany the application form. These documents are available upon request (as shown at the foot of this page) and can be used as aids to help members when completing the official French application form in French.
The English translations have been provided by EuroMayenne on a ‘best endeavours’ basis and so EuroMayenne cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions.
