Next Walk – Wednesday 21 March: Brée 

  • Meet at the restaurant “Le Bréen”, 11 Grande Rue, Brée at 9:50 to depart at 10:00 sharp.

  • About 7 km taking 1h 50 mins.

  • If you have any doubt about being able to walk this distance, please bring a doctor’s certificate of your physical fitness;  the leader of this walk may ask you to provide one anyway.
  • Lunch (optional) back at the restaurant.
  • Pay for your meal after eating; menu about €12 including wine/cider.
  • Dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead.

We usually number about 20, with a mix of English and French and we go on a country walk along footpaths and minor roads at an easy pace. You are welcome to bring your dog along too!

We meet at about 09:50 and set off at 10 o’clock promptly.

We walk for 6-8 km, ending back at the start point about midday. Then we often have lunch in a modest restaurant – the type which offers a €12-13 menu for three courses including wine. If you do stay for the meal you will find it most convivial; if your partner couldn’t do the walk, then – space in the restaurant permitting – they will be most welcome to join us for the lunch.

All the walks are within the Mayenne department and take place once a month on a Wednesday.

Details of where to meet are given for each walk, but normally it is by the village church.

We walk whatever the weather!

The only cost is the meal if you decide to add that to your exercise, payable direct to the restaurant at the time.

Wear suitable clothing; walking boots are useful as the footpaths can often be very muddy.
